MacKenzie Pause-Hurley began her yoga journey in 1997. Since that life-changing first class, she has found joy in sharing yoga and meditation with others. Trainings from Red Sun YogaJaya Yoga Center and Asana Alphabet Children’s Yoga with additional studies in Thai Yoga, Sound Healing, Restorative, Yoga Assists, and Vision Therapy make for a versatile yoga experience.

Her background and passion for music led to experimentation with Nada (sound) yoga. Exploration of the healing sounds of crystal singing bowls helped create her Sound Meditation classes that incorporate the ethereal vibrations of the bowls with restorative yoga and guided meditation. Music also played a role in her yoga classes, and in 2008, MacKenzie created All You Need Is Love, an original yoga sequence inspired by the timeless songs of The Beatles. The success of the class spans from East Coast to West Coast, also sharing the class at The Fest, the world’s largest Beatles convention. She’s currently working on a book, All You Need Is Yoga, that will bring this class into homes around the world.

Since the birth of her two kiddos, her writing background brought her to the Tinkergarten team in 2017 (now a part of the amazing Highlights brand), bringing purposeful, outdoor, play-based curriculum to children all over the world. This job brought many new adventures, but also a better understanding of what working at a computer all day can do to the body. She’s taken this experience to her yoga practice and works to share that with her students in the hopes of preventing many work-based and inactivity injuries.

MacKenzie's style spans from traditional Hatha to Vinyasa with attention to alignment and breath. While the poses are broken down for students to learn, her sense of humor works together with a light-hearted approach to make all practitioners from the novice to the experienced feel secure and comfortable in every class.
